Choosing a Labrador Companion

Labrador puppies raised at Borador Labradors

Labrador Retrievers are active, social dogs that fit well in homes ready for daily exercise, training, and time together. At Borador Labradors, Ron and Sally Bell focus on placing dogs in companion homes where they live as part of the family. This page answers common questions families ask before calling or scheduling a visit.

Is a Labrador right for your home?

Labradors need regular walks, play, and mental work. They do best when someone is home for part of the day or when family members share care duties throughout the week. They are generally good with children when kids are taught to respect dogs, but puppies require supervision during teething and house training. Read the About Us page for more on how we raise dogs at our kennel.

What to ask before you visit a breeder

Ask how puppies are raised, what health testing parents receive, and how the breeder handles placement if a dog does not fit. Request references from past buyers when possible. Look at adult dogs on site to see temperament, coat, and structure. Our Pups gallery shows recent litters, and the males and past dogs sections help you see how our dogs mature over time.

How Borador Labradors places puppies

We place most dogs as companion animals rather than show or breeding prospects, though older dogs may occasionally be available for those programs. Ron and I talk with each caller about household routine, other pets, and experience with dogs. Puppies are matched based on temperament and activity level, not simply pick order. Phone calls are preferred, and all visits are by appointment so we can give you our full attention.

Planning your visit

When you schedule a visit, wear comfortable shoes and bring a list of questions. We are happy to show you where dogs live, explain feeding and vaccination routines, and discuss training basics. Use the Contact Us form or call to arrange a time. Return to the Borador Labradors homepage anytime to review directions, gallery links, and kennel updates.
